Orange light on router

Hi, My virgin WiFi Hub 3.0 has got a constant orange  light and our internet is working intermittently. 
I have:

- turned it on and off at the wall

- checked all cables, switches etc for loose connections

- pressed reset button for 15 seconds

and the orange light is still on.

Honestly, no disrespect and I just out of interest, but why? Do you think they are lying, or maybe can’t recognise the colour ‘orange?

I'm so sorry to hear of your recent connection issues. I've checked over things on our systems and I'm unable to detect any faults currently that would explain this. Are these problems ongoing for you today? If so, is it possible for you to share a live BQM so we can look at your connect quality in real-time?

It’s a flipping Orange Light, for heaven’s sake!  What does that mean?

Busted LED? Overheating?

I suspect an aging LED, and it’s not showing properly. Not the most expensive components I reckon.
