The light on my central hub is a constant orange rather than the green stated in the start up guide (new customer as of July this year). Wifi and TV seem to be working fine but seems odd that the LED on a new router isn't the colour the guide said it should be.

That's ok, it's not service impacting. The LEDs are of an iffy quality and this happens to a few customers. Your hub may not have been new, it could have been a reconditioned one.
