New cable

Tuning in

Hi all, I recently got upgraded to 1Gb. I want to move the hub to somewhere more central on my house. The cable to the router  I'm using just now was the one that was installed 2 years ago. I thought I would just be able to pull the cable through the wall but it seems they only drill to diameter of the cable and not the connectors on the end so it won't pull through. Is there anyway to get  2 or 3 metres of cable sent out so I can move my Hub 4?

You would need a technician visit at a cost of £25.

Or you could put that £25 towards some ethernet cabling and a better router or mesh system or even running a wireless access point to where you want things to be.

By means of a "process" answer, this isn't something that VM do - the co-ax forms part of VM's network and alterations should only be done by VM techs.

You can arrange a "non-fault" callout to make these corrections, for a flat fee of £25

I'd effectively be replacing a length of cable with the exact same length of cable...seems a bit excessive to send out an engineer just to swap a bit of coax for the same length.  🤔

VM use specialist-grade triple-shielded co-ax cable.

Like I advised, that's the correct process - VM's cable is part of their network and should only be installed & maintained by them.
