My Ethernet connection keeps dropping

Vigflyer

Hi, I’m a new customer experiencing a problem where my Ethernet connection keeps dropping every few seconds falling back to Wi-Fi. Have rebooted the hub, changed ports and changed Ethernet cable, same problem! Any ideas?

Regular network dropouts are often caused by a failing or out of spec network cables.

On my HP Workstation I keep the WiFi adaptor disabled to ensure the network cable is always used.

Hi,

Update on this issue, I found out my Ethernet interface on PC was only 100mb therefore could never reach my expected broadband speed of 136mb download. Have purchased an Ethernet 1gb to USB 3 Adapter and replaced the cable to CAT 6. This has fixed the problem.

Hi Vigflyer

Thanks for the update and glad to hear you have now resolved the issue by changing the network adapter in your PC. Its always a good idea to check the network capabilities of devices to ensure you're getting the maximum connection for your money. There is no point being on 1 Gig if your devices are all limited to 500mbs or lower.
