Modem mode static ip

My box has arrived in modem mode. I presumably can connect a router to it. As I have 5 static ip addresses can I choose which ip I use when I connect the router or can it only be dynamic and given by the modem? If it’s dynamic, will it change between the 5 (reboots etc) or can I take it as fixed?

Re: Modem mode static ip

Your IP address is dynamic so it can change at any time but in many cases it has remained the same for years.

Re: Modem mode static ip

Sorry, should have been clearer but I have 5 static ip addresses from virgin so they won’t change. What I’m not sure abiut is if the modem will rotate between the 5 to the router.
