Maximum Latency Spikes Every Hour

tdbegley28

Hello all,

Just after some quick help. I have been monitoring my connection on thinkbroadband and notice a maximum latency spike every hour without fail. Can someone explain what this means and if its ok as I also monitor some other family members connections and I do not see the same happen on their graphs.

Thank you.

As you are using a Hub 5. note it's still on trial and by invite only, so expect unusual things.

Having said that, try a pinhole reset to force down the latest firmware, just in case.

Thanks for the reply.

Yes I am on the Hub 5 so do understand its in trial, maybe this issue/non issue will help VM staff on here.

I have done a reset a few times, the current software version on the hub is:
Software version : LG-RDK_2.23.11-2106.14

If it helps the info from the hub is as follows:

Just did a pin hole reset and out it back into modem mode.

Software and Hardware version remain the same as before but as least it can be monitored again from a fresh reset.

Maybe your Asus is doing speed tests for QoS
---------------------------------------------------------------

Wow now I feel a bit silly.

You've just reminded me that on one of my nVidia Shield TV boxes I think I set up hourly speed tests a week ago to monitor the speed haha. Disabled them now so will keep an eye. Thank you so much!, If this does remove the spikes I will mark it as the Helpful Answer.

Thanks again.

Hi tdbegley28,

Thanks for your post and apologies to hear you were having an issue with latency spikes.

I'm glad to hear that with the help of the Community, you've been able to locate the source of the latency.

If you continue to have issues after disabling the tests on your third party router, let us know.

Thanks,
