Got a sophisticated realtime network tool that provides real-time channel displays. I want to select the least busy channel (of course) but don't seem able to do it.
VM advice is to reboot the Hub 3 and let it select the channel. Don't know what their algorithm is, but it always selects the most cluttered channel.
Any advice as to how I can select my own channel ?
Channel setting is in the WiFi settings menu.
Only use channels 1, 6 or 11
Check you have Smart WiFi disabled.
The least congested channel it is not necessarily the best channel as overlapping channels cause far more damage.I would also bear in mind wireless scanner apps do not show interference from non 802.11 devices, which is responsible for the majority of interference on the 2.4GHz band.
Wouldn't allow any changes. Couldn't select channel at all.
Hmmm sounds like the Smart WiFi option may have been enabled, is this happening on both 2.4 and 5Ghz frequencies?
