Landline phone showing line cord error. Tried unplugging switching off etc. virgin saying no line fault. Driving me nuts as no wifi

Does the landline plug into a VM Hub or a wall socket? Is it on copper or over broadband?
when you say no WiFi - have you got broadband, do you normally have it but it's stopped working or what?
