LAN not working on Powerline in bedroom

You're home wiring may be on separate circuits, for powerlines to work correctly, you will have an upstairs and downstairs circuit thus powerlines wont connect.

You will need WiFi discs with a lan connector if your need wired

As long as the upstairs and downstairs ring circuits go through the same CU or Fuse Box they should work.

I think nowadays a lot of homes have two RCDs, one for upstairs and one for downstairs. In this case I do not think they will work. Also if you have all RCBOs they will not work.
