Internet dropping

My internet has been dropping for a day and a half now, it drops at least a few times an hour. I phoned VM today and they said there is not technically a fault in the area but they can see that there are intermittent issues in the area which could be caused by a new customer coming onboard. does this sound common or am I being fobbed off?? can some one please help.

I am so sorry you have been having issues with your service, I have managed to locate your account and can see there are some issues with your power levels which will require a tech to come and look at, I can get this booked in for you and will pop you over a PM.
