Internet access denied on website

When connected to my broadband at home I get ‘access denied’ or ‘oops something went wrong’ when I try to connect to ‘very’ website and ‘go outdoors’ website (both uk based shops) if I switch off wi-if and use my mobile data it connects with no problem. This occurs on iPhone, iPad and Chromebook. Any suggestions to rectify this. I’ve spoken to Virgin and got nowhere!

Have you turned off Websafe on your account?

Try manually setting your devices DNS servers to Googles  i.e. 8.8.8.8  and  8.8.4.4

Hi, thanks for the advice but I’ve already checked and made sure the website setting is off and it appears to be intermittent so not sure what the issue is.

Hello gcc1963.

This is a very strange one to be honest with it being intermittent.

Would you be able to post the full address of the sites you are having the issue with please.

www.very.co.uk and www.gooutdoors.co.uk, access denied when connecting using my home WiFi but if I connect via my phone mobile data it connects to both website with no problem.

Both links work for me using a VM Hub 3 in Router mode,  Child Safe is OFF, Virus Safe is ON.

Make 100% sure all forms of VPN including Apple Relay are fully disabled.

It's possible these sites are using a broadband provider that dislikes your IP address. Can you temporarily change your IP by setting your Hub to modem mode?

My name is NOT Alessandro. That's just a tag Virginmedia sticks on some contributors. Please ignore it.

Thank you so much for popping back to us @gcc1963 and thank you to jpeg1 for their suggestion here.

Have you been able to try via modem mode at all? Are these the only sites you are noticing this issue with?
