Hub4 - when to reboot ?

There's a known issue with wired internet where the speed drops to 10%, and I find I'm needing to reboot the hub4 pretty frequently. Sometimes it makes a difference, sometimes not. I _think_ the issue is that the ports auto-negotiate down to 100Mb rather than 1G, and a fix is due this month.
Anyway ..
Hub4 is the main egress. Cat 6 cable to the back of the house, into an Archer AX50 in AP mode, then wired again to PC, (AX50 is also an AP for any devices closer to it than the Hub4)

I know I could use Hub4 in modem mode, AX50 next to it, cabled to switch and separate AP back of the house.
My main questions are:

a) If the AX50 gets rebooted, will the Hub see that as a trigger to auto-negotiate down ?
b) Would I be better running into a dumb switch from the Hub, then from that to the AX50 and also from the dumb switch to the PC ?
c) What's the best configuration I could go for ? Obviously I need the Hub4 as main egress. I also need cabled access and wifi access at the back of the house

Apologies for scrambled explanation, with pics it's confusing to explain 🙂

TIA

Re: Hub4 - when to reboot ?

Hey derek765, thank you for reaching out and I am sorry to hear you are having some connection issues.

I can see in your area there was a local outage which lasted four days this could have caused some of the issues you were facing.

This started from the 28th July 2022 - 1st August, how has the connection been since these dates?

Also how often were you needing to reboot the router?

When you are rebooting it do you find this is just on the cable connection or WIFI too?

Please do let me know. Thanks

Re: Hub4 - when to reboot ?

By far it’s always best to run all VM hubs in modem mode, I’ve never run in router mode. My Hub4 gives excellent internet in modem mode.
