Hub 5 & Nest Wi-Fi Compatibility

Hi There,

I’ve recently received the new hub 5 from VM and have run a speed test on install, which confirms I’m getting 1gb broadband into the house. However when I put the hub 5 in modem mode and connect it to nest Wi-Fi (Google), the speed drops to around 200 mbps. Is there a compatibility issue between the two?

It probably means your nest system is slow, if you need more speed you may have to upgrade to a better mesh system

Thanks JB66 - it’s the latest google nest Wi-Fi system which is meant to be able to deliver 1gig?

The WiFi units (main one) is fast but if you have any nest wifi pods they are limited to AC1200 which in real world speeds is 200mb

Thanks JB66 - can confirm the setup is the latest router and Wi-Fi points (not previous pod). Should be AC2200 and able to broadcast 1gb. Not sure if this is a bug with the new hub 5, or whether there’s a way of configuring manually to work around?

The brand new nest wifi "points" are only ac1200

There are no known compatibility issues with the hub 5.
