Hub 5 - Modem Mode - BT Whole Home won't connect

Hi

I've set up my hub 5 this morning. I'm using all 4 ethernet ports, with VM ethernet in port #1.

My Whole Home mesh worked fine in router mode but, when switching to modem mode it won't connect.

I've read about putting the mesh ethernet in port 1 and restarting the router, but that doesn't seem to work either.

Am I missing something?

What you are missing is a router! The BT Whole Home system is just a meshed WiFi set of access points, if you want to use them, then the VM Hub has to be left in router mode.

Thanks jem, that sounds logical but it's always worked in the past. The idea is that disabling the VM wifi creates less network "noise" and can help performance.

 

Edit to add - back in modem mode it all works ok, but the VM network isn't visible, lol.
Well, it's working, I suppose!
