I have just encountered this issue and wasted hours trying to figure out what had gone wrong with my Sonos network, until I found it was the relatively new Hub 4 that had changed its settings.
This needs fixing ASAP. I could see in my searching that people have been reporting this problem back in Feb/March this year!

As you have found out this "feature" will need a firmware fix, so when this is implemented, who knows.
To save your sanity, just use Modem mode and your own Router. It's not ideal, I know, but it will fix the problem and, depending on the Router, will give you more control and performance over the VM Hub.
