Re: Hub 3 resets to defaults every time it's turned off

The issue here is the “smart WiFi update” which I have had automatically trigger several times, & causes a factory reset. This is a known issue, & a firmware fix is being tested.

Doing a factory reset yourself will not fix the issue, as it will simply cause the “smart WiFi” update to re-initialise after a short while.

Re: Hub 3 resets to defaults every time it's turned off

Hi TimsterC,

I know that nodrogd has recommended not to perform a factory reset of the hub, however as this seems to have resolved the issue for some customers have you been able to try this method initially?

Reset Your Hub

Thanks,

Re: Hub 3 resets to defaults every time it's turned off

Been there done that.

I think I need to replace the hub as it's constantly doing it. I've been trying to shut the hub down when I know the builders are going to be working on the electrics in the house (major renovation currently) but I don't always know when they are going to cut the power. I think the firmware has got messed up along the way somewhere and now even a 30-30-30 reset will not allow the hub to keep it's setting through a power recycle.

Re: Hub 3 resets to defaults every time it's turned off

Mine keeps crashing. At best only once a week.

Ive had the WiFi stop working but wired connection ok.

I’ve had wired connections not working and WiFi fine

Ive had it randomly reboot. What ever happens it resets to default which is really annoying as I have a lot of smart devices eg Alexa, G-Homa, WiFi light switches, ring doorbell.

Ring doorbell as the others are useless until WiFi passwords is changed

I’ve had the router about 2 years 7 months

virgin can you arrange a replacement

thanks

Re: Hub 3 resets to defaults every time it's turned off

Hi johnnevett,

Thanks for your post, and sorry to hear you've been having a few issues with the broadband service,

I've run a health check on the account and I just need a few more details from you.

I've popped you over a private message (little purple envelope in the top right hand corner).

Get back to me when you can,
