Hub 3 rebooting

awiatr
Joining in

My Hub reboots itself about 4 times a week, which appears not bad compared to some people. Each time I confirm that it has rebooted by logging in to the Hub and looking at Admin/Info.

System up time: 2 days 0h:10m:14s

I am running in modem mode with an Asus RT-AX88U providing the Wi-Fi. The problem I have is with my alarm system. I am unable to connect via my phone to the alarm system until I reboot the Asus router.

All stats look ok.

To visualise and record any dropouts can you do this.
__________________________________________

If you haven’t already, set up a free and secure “Broadband Quality Monitor” to continually monitor the state of your connection and record any true network dropouts , latency issues, packet drops, etc - it will thus allow you to differentiate between those and simple wifi dropouts. It does it 24/7/365 and it keeps a visual record of any/all of your network disconnections, useful data to have to match to the Network logs (in your Hub settings) and also in discussions with VM - note it will take a few hours to start seeing a sensible picture - post up the “link” to the “share live graph” (as per instructions on the TB website) when it starts to develop.

Your Hub is a wall of red - probably becayse the Asus router is not set to "Accept ICMP echo requests/pings"

Go into the settings and enable it. If it is - check the ip address in the BQM settings is actually the same as that when you check it it on Google

Thanks John, I have enabled the ICMP on the Asus router.

Cheers Andrew

The hub 3 rebooted at 9:03, this can be seen on the graph.

Did you reboot it? What does the Network log report at 9.03?

No I didn't reboot it.

The network log shows nothing useful around the time of the reboot, just my login to check it had rebooted.

BQM looking spot on today. Stats all fine.

The solution to the problem must lay somewhere in the settings of your Asus, phone and alarm
