Hub 3 keeps rebooting.

Hi, so I have been having issues with my WiFi since Thursday morning, connection dropped and was without Internet nearly all day. Virgin put this down to a fault with the hub so received a new one yesterday.

Set up the hub but now we keep losing the connection and the hub keeps rebooting, it has rebooted a total of five times today!

I've called customer services 4 times now and they seem to be having trouble understanding, cut off, redirected to a totally unrelated department, I have also tried the live chat feature but they keep cutting me off from there also.

Obviously this is not a fault with the router as its a brand new one but have noticed that this is happening to a number of virgin customers over the past couple of days, why pay when we are receiving such a poor service?

Anyone have a clue as to what is going on here?

Have you checked for “known network faults”?

As well as trying the “check service,” weblink (at the top of this forum board), there is also a Service Status number - 0800 561 0061 - which usually tells you of more local issues down to postcode level (that might even not yet be listed on the Service Status web page) - that may give you more info.
---------------
Then....   check that all of your coax connections are in nice and "finger" tight at the Hub and wall box and at any splitters/attenuators/etc with no “unterminated loose ends, and that the internal wiring is ok with no kinking or chaffing. Also check that all looks good with the outside cabling and wall box.

Also, set up a free “Broadband Quality Monitor” to continually monitor the state of your connection and record any network dropouts - it will thus allow you to differentiate between those and simple wifi dropouts. It does it 24/7/365 and it keeps a visual record of any/all of your network disconnections, useful data to have to match to the Network logs (in your Hub settings) and also in discussions with VM. Make sure you uncheck the “ignore ping from WAN side” box in the settings if you see a wall of "red" - note it will take an hour or two to start seeing a sensible picture.

Finally post up your Hub/network connection details and someone will check to see if there is a problem there.

In your browser’s URL box type in http://192.168.0.1 (or http://192.168.100.1 - if in modem mode) and hit return. On the first page up [there should be no need to login if you have done so before] click on the “router status” icon at top right (for SH2’s) or text at bottom-middle of first page up (if its a Hub3) and then copy/paste 3 FULL sets of data onto here – from the Downstream, Upstream, & Network Logs pages. Don't worry too much about the formatting it can be easily read & DON’T include personal data or MAC addresses - blank them out - if you copy/paste the data, the board software will do this for you (you may need to click the "submit" button a second time).

Downstream power levels are way too high. You probably need an attenuator added to your incoming cable, this is technician’s job as they need to be balanced. Phone customer services and report the problem.

This seems to be a known problem that Virgin media are aware of and refuse to acknowledge, they changed my hub 2 to hub 3 on Tuesday since then it has randomly rebooted 20 times and i have actually filmed it. These are faulty products and should all be replaced

Have the same issue. When it started, few months ago, it was once a week, recently every day, today a few times.
