 Does anyone know how many wi-fi devices a virgin 3.0 hub can manage? eg cameras, tablets phones, laptops? If they are connected but not being used will they still slow down everything else?

I have a 200mbps contract but only get about 20-30 mbps on my laptop.

Its hard to say for sure but i reckon around 14 on 5ghz and 6 on 2.4ghz before performance drops. Perhaps your laptop isnt capable of fast speeds, do you know the wireless card that is in it?

Having a quick google it seems a common issue with that card that it wont connect to the 5ghz signal.

Some people have suggested going into the hub settings and changing the wifi channel on the 5ghz from auto to (48)

When I connect with the Virgin Hub it doesn't give me the option of 2.5 or 5Ghz, is there any way of changing this?

you need to log into the hub, navigate to wireless signal and give the 2.4 and 5ghz SSID's different names so that you can see the two separate SSIDs
