How To Fix Upload Speed?

Hi all,

So where do I start? Okay I have had Virgin media in my house since I moved in 3 years ago had 0 issues however 5G come around and out of nowhere my 350MB package was no longer good enough to load anything was getting around 15/20mbps download so after a quick call I was upsold to 1GB package and well everything was perfect and as should be for a few months then...

Now where it gets interesting like most I game on a PS5 and when I jump on for a few quick games during the day its all fine and I get around 600mbps download and 30mbps upload and this is fine.

However, as soon as there call centres shut for the night so dose my wifi from 7PM till 7AM I hit 20mbps download and on a very good night i'll hit 0.5mbps upload ( last test I got 0.02mbps upload speed). Now I'm getting little lag in the games not the end of the world but is very annoying. However the voice chats are just pointless I sound like a juddering robot thats just had liquid poured onto its motherboard so I can't do any call outs or communicate with team mates.

I did try and call today but after spending 50 minutes going in circles talking to my new robot friend repeating the same message and constantly asking me to press 0 to go back to the main switchboard I give up there is a automated messaged that dose say there is an issue in my area and they are working on it however its a complicated issue so they don't know what to call it or how long its going to take. kinda reminds me of ringing the takeaway when your order is 30min late and before you even speak to them you get its on the way...

So anyone have any recommendations on how to fix this or should I just switch to another internet provider?

Kind regards,

Annoyed gamer.

Re: How To Fix Upload Speed?

Go to 192.168.0.1

Click 'Router Staus' (underneath the login box)

Copy and paste the log

Also it is worth setting up a BQM (Quality monitor) at ThinkBroadband and after 24 hrs share the graph here.

knowledgeable people on here will try and advise on a way forward
