Hello all,

I have an interesting question.

Does the SuperHub 3 use different DNS on 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz wifi signals?
Reason I ask is that my website loads fine on 2.4Ghz but the speed is really slow but doesn't resolve on 5Ghz where my speeds are much better? If I change my Laptops DNS to Google's when on 5Ghz my site loads. 
Also what is the TTL that Virgin Media have set?  As I set my Nameserver changes 2nd April at 12.36pm and I would have thought that your DNS would have cleared its cache by now,

If by nameserver changes you mean update to DNS they VM servers are rather on the slow side and can take up to 48 hours. If you do a search there is a very good post about DNS updates on this board.

OK so I set my nameservers changes on my website 2nd April 12.36pm. My site shows up on 2.4Ghz (although the speed is really slow) but does not show up on 5Ghz. Hence why I am asking the question.

no there is no difference in settings or conenction between the 2

it's most likely not related to that, and it's something else that's causing the issue.
ignore the red herring and expand your investigations.

believe me we have. I have had Linux engineers look at it and the issue is down to propagation. I wanted to know how long virgin media’s dns cache lasts for, so that maybe if that’s the issue, at least it will be resolved after the timers expire and it clears itself out.

just seems weird that it works on 2.4ghz and not 5ghz.

Have you actually checked whether the result of a DNS lookup on 2.4 GHz is different to the same DNS lookup on 5 GHz or are you assuming this?  If you're assuming that this is happening, you may find that doing an "nslookup" when connected on both frquencies may help you to narrow down what's actually happening.

Hmm.. I get the same result on both:

nslookup site name 194.168.8.100
