Deco P9 + Hub 4 = help :)

Pinnick
On our wavelength

Hiya,

Recently upgraded and purchased a Deco P9 kit to go with 🙂

Not getting anywhere close to 500, never mind 940(more?) on anything. Xbox (wired) gets 400ish, PC on first floor wired from the Deco gets 250-300, then attic gets 190-250.

Any setup tips, like do I need to have the ethernet coming from the Hub 4 come out of a certain port on the back to the Deco?

Kind regards

46030000050.85120 KSym/sec64QAM1

  • The 'QAM' value of your DOCSIS 3.1 channel should be 4096.
  • The power level of your DOCSIS 3.1 channel is a touch high.
  • Your upstream power levels look a touch high, which can affect download speed.

The above can cause stability issues, resulting in slower speeds.

These issues need confirming with VM and correcting with an engineer visit.

Thank you, sir!

Only the devices hard wired to the first node, connected to the HUB, will see anywhere near 940Mbps. Wired devices connected to the other two nodes will rely on the WiFi backbone.

Oh even worse it appears to use your power line as the backbone!

That, at times, can be worse than wireless.

The Xbox isn't getting anywhere near that directly from the Hub 4 (in modem mode) or via the first hub.

On the 500 package, my speeds were nearly the same on everything.

Is it a recent installation?

Your HUB power levels could be out of spec, causing slower than expected speeds.

It's been six days, yeah.

Access your HUB 4 on 192.168.100.1, and select the 'Check Router Status' option below the login section.

Copy paste the information from the tabs into here, which you will need to paste into several posts and sometimes click post twice due to an error message, and we can check the levels.
