DNS not working correctly

CL123
Tuning in

Hi,

I've just noticed that some websites won't connect on my virgin home broadband.

An example is https://admin.trac.jobs

The issue appears to be the Virgin DNS servers

194.168.4.100 and 194.168.8.100

They just don't resolve that domain name.  If I change my PC or mobile to use Google DNS (8.8.8.8) it works.  How do I report this to Virgin Media folks so that they can fix it.

I've rebooted router, fiddled with websafe settings, etc - none work. I'm pretty sure it is an issue with VMs DNS service.

Thanks

Perhaps the IP address for that site has been updated recently. Can take up to 48 hours for it to percolate to the VM DNS servers.

Hi

No it isn’t that. It just doesn’t resolve at all. i.e. DNS server returns nothing, as opposed to the wrong IP.

Thanks

I see the same phenomena.

It's also being reported in this thread;

I know a bit about Wi-Fi, Telecoms, and TV as I used to do it for a living but I'm not perfect so don't beat me up... If you make things you make mistakes!
