Crazy fluctuations in upload speeds

rf96
On our wavelength

over the last 2/3 weeks i have been experiencing some ridiculous fluctuations in my upload speeds, I can run 3 speed tests in a row and they will range anywhere from 0.1mbps to 30mbps+ in the space of a few minutes. I stream (or atleast used to...) games online and am currently unable to do this properly as the majority of the frames in the stream get lost which means my stream is constantly skipping frames and is very buggy.

This isn't only happening at peak times, it happens every time i attempt to check speeds

I am on the M350 package. Yes, I am using a wired connection.. I also am not using other devices at the same time, I have a PC and that is all that is being used. I have never had issues before becuase it is usually a constant 25 - 32 mbps average I don't know what to do about it, it is unbelievably annoying because it is basically stopping my second source of income

Can you post your Hub status and logs?
Someone should be spot if there is a problem
Navigate to http://192.168.0.1 (or http://192.168.100.1 - if in modem mode)
Don't log in!
Click on 'router status'
Copy/paste the data from each of the tabs. The forum software will remove the MAC addresses for you (you may need to click the 'post' button again).

You have a borked upstream channel at 32 QAM - and loads of T3 timeouts on that same channel - You'll likely need a tech visit to investigate / rectify!

VM forum staff can book this if they deem it necessary

Hi RF96,

Thanks for your post, I am sorry you're having this issue with your broadband services recently.
I have had a look at your services on my side and can see there is an area outage, which is regarding an SNR issue.
This is due to be fixed  - 30 JUL 2021 13:15 - but please be aware this is just an estimate, it could change depending on what the engineers find. However, I am sure they will be working incredibly hard to get this fixed as soon as possible for you.

Just for future issues with your services and for any other users that are looking at this thread for help, I have a few links below that might help with general issues -

  • Our Service Checker is a good tool to use to check if there are any area outages ongoing with Broadband, TV, Landline and Mobile. It usually lets you know what is wrong and how long it's going to take for the engineers to fix (estimated time of course)
  • Your Online Account also has a good tool which helps diagnose a fault within your home network with your Broadband, TV and Landline, it will tell you what's up and what to do next.
  • We also have a good section for faults on our website here - Help Website - it will give you flows for diagnosing and rectifying faults on a multitude of aspects. A really good link to bookmark!

Thanks,
