Quick update: Technician visited. Was able to see a lot of spikes on the line using his signal monitoring tool. And identified a corroded coax copper core back at the cabinet. Showed me the cut-off, was definitely subject to a good amount of water ingress and the copper was pretty much black. About 6 inch cut-off was completely black. Very glad a positive fault was found.
