Cant access my NAS using ip address since changing to virgin and the HUB3 - help

I am trying to update the firmware on my NAS but cant access the device via its ip address.  We have just changed over from Sky to Virgin and didnt have problems previously with Sky.  When I enter the NAs ip address I get a message saying the device refuses to connect.  

Im not a technophob but need some guidance please ?

how is the NAS connected to the hub?, its possible the NAS is using the IP range of 192.168.1.X when the virginmedia hub uses 192.168.0.X, might need to connect NAS direct to PC/laptop to change settings or reset it settings to automatic, what model of of NAS do you have?
