Cannot access mail hosted at ovh.net

Ever since the 16th April I have not been able to access my email hosted on ex3.mail.ovh.net.

When I use my mobile phone as a hotspot I can connect using owa and outlook fine.

As soon as I go back and try using my virgin line it fails.

Can someone please advise?

this normally means the remote server has blocked your IP address.

Ive emailed OVH asking if they blacklist any VM addresses, however i dont beleive this is the problem.

When on VM the OVH.NET IP resolves to one address but when on three hotspot it resolves to another IP address which works.

Maybe a DNS cache issue on VM side or a peer routing issue i dont know.

OVH have confirmed that there are no IP blocks or restrictions in place.

Are the any VM engineers or technicians on the forum that read and respond to posts.?

Or is their any other method of logging a ticket.?

If it’s a dns issue you can test this by changing the dns servers on the device you’re trying to connect with, just use Google’s dns servers; 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.

your trace when using vm may be going to a different ip address but it is going to an ovh cas server, so on the face of things would seem to be working.. only ovh know how they load balance connections to their exchange infrastructure... 

possibly related to the massive problems that ovh have been having since their data centres blew up?

Thanks for getting in touch and welcome to the Community Forum! I'm sorry that you're having problems accessing your emails.

 

Have you been able to follow the suggestion of tehwolf at all? Could you also try placing your router in modem mode and then attempting to access the website?

 

Please let me know how you get in, I'd be happy to take a closer look at this for you if your problem hasn't been resolved.

Hi

My SH3 is allready in Modem mode as i use a pair of ASUS AX92U routers.

Below is a list of things i have done / tried.

  1. I can confirm that OUTLOOK works pefectly fine when tethered to my phone so i know the service is working for both me and my partner.
  2. Outlook on mobile phone works perfectly fine as well.
  3. My SH3 is allready in modem mode as im using a pair of AX 92u routers.
  4. I've confirmed with OVH that the result of an NSLOOKUP shows im resolving to the correct hosts.
  5. I've confirmed with OVH that i can indeed reach the host.
  6. I've also confirmed that Virgin web filtering is turned off.
  7. I've confirmed that my antivirus is not blocking the site as well.
  8. This is happening on all devices (desktops and laptops) in the house so its not a device issue.
  9. The problem started on the 14th April 2021.

For some reason the virgin connection is mangling the HTTPS connection which is giving me the following error message

Any help is much appreciated as if i cant use this email provider on my virgin connection then i will be forced to change my broadband provider.
