Can't connect to Netgear extender since firmware update

Hi All

I received an email on the 19th Feb saying Virgin had updated my Hub 3 so it would perform better.

Since that date I cannot connect from any device to my netgear x2700 wifi extenders when they are connected to my Hub.

I have restarted/factory reset both of them and then reconnected to my Hub 3 via WPS. The lights indicate that this works and that they are connected to the Hub 3.

However, when I try to connect from my phone/chromebook/pc, it cannot connect and I get a network failure message?

Is it simply coincidence that I get that email and then my two extenders both have the same issue? Or has the Hub 3 update changed the way that extenders have to connect?

Any help would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I’d try splitting the two WiFi bands on the hub by giving them different SSIDs.

I know a bit about Wi-Fi, Telecoms, and TV as I used to do it for a living but I'm not perfect so don't beat me up... If you make things you make mistakes!

A Hub reset as below usually sorts these recent issues.

Make sure the 2 passwords on the Hub sticker are still there and legible first ! Disconnect any ethernet cables from the Hub (leave the coax connected), and then with the Hub still "switched on" throughout, press pin in firmly with paper clip/SIM tray tool or similar "thin thing" and hold it firmly for at least 60 seconds, release the pin, leave for 5’ to stabilise - dont manually switch it off at any time.

I do not work for VM. My services: HD TV on VIP (+ Sky Sports & Movies & BT sport), x3 V6 boxes (1 wired, 2 on WiFi) Hub5 in modem mode with Apple Airport Extreme Router +2 Airport Express's & TP-Link Archer C64 WAP. On Volt 350Mbps, Talk Anytime Phone, x2 Mobile SIM only iPhones.

Thanks Both for your swift responses.

I will try these solutions and feedback.

Hi

I split the two bands and the extender now works.
