I have just changed over from a residential account to a business one and I have now lost the ability to use virgin wifi hotspots. I have tried using my business account but that would not register. So the main questionis am I able to use wifi hotspots

The WiFi T&Cs say:
"20. Access to the services is included as part of a customer’s subscription to Virgin Media Residential broadband services and/or as part of a customer’s Virgin Mobile pay monthly contract or Pay As You Go contract."
So the answer appears to be no, you only get access as part of a residential broadband account.
