Broadband

Hi,

On the 16th I am switching from Sky To Virgin.

I have ordered the Vivid 350 due to the amazing speeds. Just wondering do people with this package get the speeds of 150-350 ?

Also, I heard although Virgin has the best speeds coming in, but they are'nt the best at carrying the speeds through the house... before I had Sky Q's which acted as WIFI extenders for the Sky Wifi so the range was no problem.

Can someone tell me what the fasted, reliable extender would be for my coming Virgin package?

Re: Broadband

I wouldn't buy anything until the new Hub is installed and you have had the chance to test your speeds around the house.

Yes, the hub is a cheap entry level device that can struggle in wireless challenging environments, but the Hub \ Router is only half of the equation as your wireless clients play their part too.  You will need MIMO wireless AC clients to get anywhere near 350Mbps wirelessly, and then close to the Hub \ Router.

Untrue, mesh systems rely on passing the signal from unit to unit and you can get interference on the uplink. Directly Ethernet wired wireless access points will always beat mesh, especially good ones with multi MIMO.

And say I was going to use an Ethernet cable with an extender for my Smart Tv for watching ultra HD Netflix, what extender would you recommend??

Re: Broadband

Re: Broadband

I did think about that , but I don’t really want long cables running through the house... that’s why I want to know what the best extender would be for wireless devices to try and get the most of the 350mps?
