Broadband speed slower than normal

I live in Dunfermline and my broadband speed is less than half of normal ( normal 200 now 67)According to national sources virgin broadband is having issues in the area but when I I do the check I’m being advised everything is fine . Why is there such a difference in reporting

Have you tried the 0800 561 0061 number? It is usually more uptodate and accurate!

I am very sorry to hear you are experiencing issues with the service and receiving different information. 

I have taken a look from our side and can confirm that there is currently no known faults within your area. 

With this being the case, how has the service been since Monday? Have you seen any improvements?

You have mentioned the speeds is less than half of what it should be, is this on wired or wireless connections please/
