Yes, my setup is the same as described in the original post. I've tried using the hub in router mode, in this case all devices lose their connection when this happens though the link shows as still being up (white light on front.)
What seems to happen when this fault occurs is that the hub stops providing an IP address to connected devices until those devices are powered off.
I've tried replacing my router and we also replaced my original hub 2 with a hub 3.
I have 4 wired devices connected to the router and many (10+) wireless devices connected.
