just bought one of these on ebay and was wondering

does the modem have to be in modem mode to use them or regular mode?

also with my current hub in modem mode couldnt i just plug the bt disc into my TP link arecher c7?

after all thats a modem isnt it?

If you want to plug the BT disk into the VM hub directly, then the latter has to be in router mode.

Otherwise just plug the disk into your existing TP-Link router (but disable the WiFi on the router as well, you won’t need it).

The BT system is just a set of WiFi  across points, something has to do the router function, either the Hub or router mode or your own kit.

are you 100% sure i can plug it into my tp lionk archer c7?

its just on other forums all my answers were no and that id have to get rid of the archer c7

Yes but that's other forums, this is the one where we know what we're talking about

The Archer C7 is a router, the Hub in modem mode provides the connection back to the internet, the Archer does all the work and just plug the first disk into any of the LAN sockets on the Archer and set it up as per the instructions. It's basically how I have mine setup except I am using an Asus router.
