Asus router to improve wifi coverage

stephencantwell
On our wavelength

Evening all,

My wifi coverage from the VM Hub3 is pretty rubbish. The hub is located in an upstairs bedroom and struggles even a few metres away in the next room. I do have a virgin wifi pod plugged in downstairs in the hallway (given to me as beta trail a while back) and wifi will work when standing next to it but as soon as i walk away from it to say living room or kitchen the signal is almost non existent.

The speed from my pc connected via ethernet is fantastic so thats all good, Just the wifi signal i struggle with.

So my question is (got there in the end 😅) Ive seen folk on here mention using the hub in modem mode and connecting a 3rd party wifi router, So im going to try that and in my eagerness i won an ebay auction now im wondering, After realising there are lots of different models of routers(who knew lol) if ive bought the right type? (pic attached)

Any advise/recommendations would be greatly received, Cheers.router.jpg
