Amazon Firestick and Hub 4

I have a relatively new Hub 4 and have seen a number of challenges with networking / WiFi.

One specific issue is with Amazon Firesticks. Often, I need to reset the firestick to clear a poor connection issue (just to be clear, this is irrespective of the relative location of the hub and firestick). All other connectivity looks fine - just periodic degradation of the Firestick performance until is needs a reset.

On rare occasions, I actually end up needing to reset the hub.

I’ve a feeling this is something to do with the way the hub maintains the connectivity whilst devices “sleep” when not in use (and yes, this included PC’s in sleep mode not reconnecting properly). I had absolutely no problem with my previous BT hub.

regards

Peter

Hi pcilessmith,

Thanks for posting and welcome to the community.

Sorry to hear you're having issues with the Firestick.

Changing the DNS has been known to help (on the Firestick) - https://community.virginmedia.com/t5/Forum-Archive/Issues-connecting-Amazon-fire-stick-to-Hub-3/td-p...
