Advanced Network Error Search - still being used when disabled

i have this function disabled, and on the page it confirms it is disabled.
however, occasionally i will get it still kicking on when i mistype a website.

for example, when i was testing a URL (from another thread in here), mistyped www.whatschrome.org as www.whatchrome.org and i was presented with the Advanced Network Error Search screen offering possible search results.

so why is this kicking in when i specifically disabled it?

i use the hub3 in modem mode and my network does not use Virgin DNS - i use Google DNS network-wide.

Re: Advanced Network Error Search - still being used when disabled

I just went to the page, turned it on (It was turned off in the past), turned it off, then waited a few minutes and it seems to be working for me now.

I think it's tied to each VM IP, so any time there is an IP change you would need to opt-out again.

Seems strange that it does it even when your using a non-VM DNS server.

I would also expect it's something you cant turn off when logged into their public WiFi service.

----
I do not work for VM, but I would. It is just a Job.

I would also make websites for them, because the job never seems to require the website to work.

Re: Advanced Network Error Search - still being used when disabled

my IP hasn't changed.
plus it only seemed to do it on that particular typo'd website.
i typed in other random wrong stuff and it correctly just went to google.
