View Bill = Error file could not be downloaded

Hi

Using the My Virgin Media App, when I try to view my latest bill I get an error

The file could not be downloaded. Please save the file to local media.

Any thoughts?

Re: View Bill = Error file could not be downloaded

Hi Lewis,

Thanks for your post and apologies to hear you are getting this error.

Are you able to view the bills using the same login via My Virgin Media on a PC or Laptop?

If so, try deleting the app and then re-installing it to see if this makes any difference.

Come back and let me know how you get on.

Thanks,

Re: View Bill = Error file could not be downloaded

Thanks for confirming that for me Smiley Happy

As it's on the app only then this rules out the issue being an account issue. It will be something to do with the device or the app.

Can you try on another device for me please.

Thanks,

Re: View Bill = Error file could not be downloaded

Will do,

I suspect it's because your app on Android has no storage permissions (Of which I cannot either as it hasn't requested the permissions) and so it cannot write the download PDF to disk.

On my Android, the bill (PDF) opens to view in what looks like a Google Drive window - the actual file is not downloaded, it gives the option to download in that window.

Wondering if you have PDF viewing set to a different program which does not like the ones generated?, or maybe some security program blocking it from opening.

Re: View Bill = Error file could not be downloaded

Bullseye, I revoked all defaults on Adobe reader and tried Google PDF which worked
