Cannot register with My Virgin Media (error DEF01)

Hi there, I want to register to manage my Virgin Media account online.

Unfortunately, when I try to do this, I get error DEF01 and a message saying to try again later, which doesn't help. Happens despite clearing my browser cache and cookies, using Mozilla Firefox. Switching to another browser (Edge) didn't help.

If I try to sign in using my e-mail address, it claims that I have a password - but I haven't created an account. Trying to reset the password also gets an error DEF01.

Please help me get set up. Thanks.
