Unable to register for online account

Trying to register for an online account but fail at the first hurdle as my mobile number isn’t recognised as a Virgin Mobile number even though I’ve just received it with a new handset
Is there a solution to this?

Call 789, Virgin Mo pulled the system from EE to ‘internal’ and well it’s a flawed system of errors - some people can’t even use sims in a previous VMo supplied phone as new sims are different and people are getting handset locked alerts or no service at all.

I have called 789 and was told that my sim wasn’t registered and should wait 24-36 hours!
Apparently I’ll receive a text once it’s registered, then I can call back to port my number over
Not overly impressed with the service so far as I’ve no doubt I’m being charged for not being able to use my phone!
