I had to manually remove parental control when I got Virginbrkadband (don’t remember ever opting in) and am having the same problem now that Iv swotcjed to Virgin Mobile from o2.
extrmemely frustrating and well over the 6 hours apparently my date of birth needs to be confirmed via Experian??
Was this not confirmed whilst carrying out credit checks 🤔🤔🤔
Have you set up your online account for mobile yet?.
If yes, login and goto "Manage My Services", turn off "Parental Control" and then restart phone.

Like you said, credit check done. Also logging into account proves your the account holder who has to 18+ to take on the account in the first place.
