Being charged for mobile calls to nhs 111.

Recently had to call nhs 111 number. When my bill arrived I was charged £9 as it had registered as an international number. Only just had the virgin mobile this sim card. I thought 111 calls were free.

Indeed they are.  Used the service a couple of weeks ago. Admittedly I was on 3 but it is the same for all networks.

Call 789 and get your bill amended.

Thank you I have tried this but they have insisted I have dialled an American number. I only have my phone log to prove this. As all my phones are virgin this could be a problem in the future will need to rethink my provider.

Hi Suszie, Virgin Mobile are aware of this and I'm told that any customers impacted will be refunded. No need to call in as it will be dealt with automatically . . . most likely after the New Year when you'll see a credit applied back.
