What type of contract do you have is it PAYG or a contract.
If it a PAYG you have to make a chargeable text / call every 90 days to keep the SIM active, also you need to be aware that Virginmedia will be stopping all PAYG sim later this year.

Yeah the number 789 will not work outside of the UK and Virginmedia network, the 90 day rule is hard and fast and it is under the terms and conditions, so you will need to make a chargeable call or send a text to keep the number.
