I have a TV and Broadband package.
my contract started 22/3/18 and it says there's a date of change: 12/01/2019
This is on a 12 month agreement.
Can I cancel (for free) now or do I need to wait until Jan 2020?
The amendment in January was an increase in Broadband speed.
You will be on a new contract after the changes in January, either 12 or 18 months.
so EDFs would be in play if you cancelled now.

It's a bit of a cheeky thing that I can't separate my TV from my Broadband package and cancel my TV package now the 12 months have passed on that element (the change I made was for the broadband).
You didn’t change elements, you changed one package for another package. Yes there are similar elements but it’s still 1 package for another.
is there a formula to calculate the cancellation fee when you're in your contact
Add up the remainder that your bills would cost from now till the end date, it will be that. It does get capped at £240 though.
Full details of our Cancellation fees can be found here
Hope that helps
