from experience with maintainence companies, if you tell them you have made efforts to make safe etc it will give you a lower priority for a fix. If you make it sound worse than it actually is you get higher priority. You telling them it’s been secured with a rope (with everything working fine) tells them it’s an as and when job. For future, it would be in your interest to not disclose what efforts have been done to make something secure / safe to maintainence companies so you get a higher priority.
