Upgrading tv package

I made online changes to my Virgin Media tv package on Saturday.  I have now been advised by customer services that these changes will not take effect until Tuesday.  This seems to me to be a long time to wait, particularly as I am upgrading my tv package.  Is this length of wait of normal?

We are sorry for any delays experienced with the upgrade of your package.

 

In some cases this can take up to 48 hours to become effective.

 

Is the service now as expected?
