Spoke to a call centre handler and gave correct email but still my account
is linked to incorrect email address.
My bad of course but why would the registration page accept an email
address @google.com instead of @gmail.com
my excuse is a thumping hangover what's VM's?

Hi @astromart
Have you checked your spam/junk folders?
gmail.com and googlemail.com are interchangeable so you should still receive email addressed to either.
name@googlemail.com and name@gmail.com point to the same mailbox.
I've just tested this by sending email from one of my msn addresses to both my @googlemail.com address and also to the same address using the suffix @gmail.com as the domain

Thanks for reply.
Nothing in inbox or junk folders , called 0345 454 1111 a second time requesting reset to both my user email and password.
Left it for 1 hour and was able to register.
