Is contact via the community forum the only way to cancel the promotional offer. I really expected to see an option in my services page to allow me to cancel it myself.

Cancellations aren't something we're able to do via the community.

 

You would either need to call us on 150/ 0345 454 1111 or text us on +44753 305 1809 and we'll be able to help.

Rather than add "me too" to a long-since solved thread, it may be better to start your own and explain your query.

With that in mind, what is it on your account that you want to cancel? VM staff do respond on here and can deal with many account issues, but package changes & cancellations need to be done by calling in.
