Port existing number to new Oomph SIM

I have received my new Oomph unlimited, cost free SIM and wish to port my existing Virgin number to this SIM.

I don't understand why my existing SIM could not have been amended to reflect the the new tariff.

Fed up calling 789 and hanging on for ages so wondered if any one has had any recent experience

Hi pjamesesq, without looking at the account it sounds like you were on one of our old sims. Now that the sim is replaced this should not need to be replaced any time soon ^Chris

But it is essential I keep my existing number and will have to port to the new SIM. That is my major concern.

Please call 150 from your home phone, as an oomph customer you will be redirected to the team.

I have called 150 and they told me to call 789 !

It is very frustrating that neither Virgin Media nor Virgin Mobile seem to be able to offer clear advice

Our oomph team deal with both cable services and the sims.

I have called 150 on 3 occasions and on each occasion have been told to call 789

i have spent 2 hours this morning in text conversation with Virgin Media Help, culminating in being told my only option is to contact the Customer Care team

When I was sold the Oomph bundle which included the free Sim I was told that my existing mobile number would be transferred. 

So this was simply untrue, which is disgraceful

It is usually possible to have an existing Virgin Mobile SIM upgraded to the Oomph plan as long as that happens when the Oomph bundle is created. However if a new SIM is issued as part of the Oomph bundle, you can't move an existing Virgin Mobile number to it.

The only way to fix this would be to upgrade your existing Virgin Mobile number and SIM to the Oomph plan and associated bundle, and cancel the unwanted SIM and number.
