I recently joined virgin through refer a friend who entered my details online in which I received email to join. I have not received my credit on first bill and when I phoned up I was told that I have to go through the live chat to sort this issue which is impossible to do as it crashes
Hi, I had similar issue and my credit was rejected. I feel virgin are reluctant to give this and have intentionally left their documentation of how to go about this process vague. I have been informed that the notification of the credit should have appeared on my contract and welcome email - there is nothing in the website that states this is part of the process!
I have discussed with others who have gone through the same process successfully and they have confirmed they received no such notification!
Even though I have copy's of email showing I went through the process, virgin are unwilling to help.
Dishonest service and I definitely won't be renewing!

There is a specific process in place for referring customers. The existing account holder needs to pop in their friend's details via this page here: Refer A Friend
This then generates an email to both the existing and new customer confirming the referral. The Friend then needs to join via that email. Unless this is followed, no link is made between the 2 accounts.
Have you still got the email showing the referral? If not check with the person who referred you. If they have this we can look into this further for you.
