I have been trying to contact Virgin Media via WhatsApp and phone calls for 3 days and I just couldn't manage to get to anyone to help me cancel my package because I can't afford the monthly payment anymore after Virgin Media increased the price! Is there any easier way to cancel my Virgin Media account? My previous contract already ended and I haven't signed a new contract yet. Can I just cancel my direct debit and walk away?

Hi Nick,
The quickest method is by calling around 8am if possible when lines first open and are least busy.
WhatsApp on 0730 532 7112 often takes 4-6 hours, sometimes longer..
You can also cancel using the good old fashioned Royal Mail. If writing include all of your account details and send it by registered (signed for) post to

Cancelling your direct debit won't cancel the account, you will continue to be charged . It will firstly attract late payment fees and then be passed on to a debt collection agency, which will probably affect your credit rating.
